As the holidays, family gatherings and cooler weather head in, you may have started thinking about popping the question. Maybe you’ve already found the perfect engagement ring for your soon to be fiancé and are ready to head into our store to make the momentous investment. There is one crucial piece of information you may still need: her ring size.

  1. Bring in a ring she wears frequently: If she wears it a lot, there’s a good chance it’s a comfortable size for her. Try to bring it in when she won’t know it’s missing so you don’t induce any panic. This works particularly well if she wears it on her ring finger, however, if she does not, make sure to note which finger she does wear it on!

  2. Trace it: If that ring she wears daily doesn’t leave her sight for more than a few minutes, you can always trace it and bring in the paper instead. Be sure to trace the inside of the ring so we can obtain a more accurate measurement of her ring size.

  3. Ask a family member: If you went a more traditional route and asked her family for their blessing on the proposal, you can reach out to them and see if any of the family members who are already in-the-know have her ring size noted.

  4. Get a friend to take her to a ring shop: If any of her close friends are already aware of the upcoming proposal you can elicit their help in getting her ring size. See if her friends will take her out for a shopping trip and swing by a jewelry for a fun try-on session.

If all else fails, here at Sheiban Jewelers we have been helping men determine the ring size of their soon to be fiances for over forty years. Simply bring in a photo of you two holding hands and we most often are able to determine her ring size within 0.5 of a size.
