Conflict Free Diamond Policy

Conflict Free Diamond Policy Conflict Free Diamond Policy

At Sheiban Jewelers, we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in the diamond industry. We have adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards Conflict or Blood Diamonds, which have been used to fund devastating conflicts in various regions. We believe in responsible sourcing and are dedicated to providing our customers with diamonds that are free from any association with conflict or human rights abuses.

The Kimberley Process and Responsible Sourcing

The United Nations has recognized the grave consequences of conflict diamonds and has taken action through the Kimberley Process (KP). The KP is a collaborative effort involving international administrative bodies, national governments (including the United States), the global industry, and civil society. Its mission is to stem the flow of Conflict and Blood Diamonds by imposing strict requirements on its members to certify shipments of rough diamonds as 'conflict-free.'

As of December 2009, the Kimberley Process has grown to include 49 members, representing 75 countries, with the European Community and its Member States participating individually. Collectively, Kimberley Process members oversee approximately 99.8% of the global production of rough diamonds. In 2003, the United States Congress enacted legislation mandating that all US diamond retailers purchase diamonds from manufacturers who can provide documentation certifying legitimate sourcing.

Our Sourcing Practices

At Sheiban Jewelers, we take our responsibility seriously. We exclusively collaborate with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical sourcing and who adhere to the rigorous standards set forth by the Kimberley Process. Our diligent vetting process ensures that all diamonds we offer are certified as conflict-free.

Your Peace of Mind

We value your trust, and your peace of mind is of utmost importance to us. If, for any reason, one of our suppliers is unable to produce the necessary documentation to certify compliance with the Kimberley Process, we will immediately discontinue our business relationship with them.
